From August 2010 to December 2016, I worked at Florida State University (FSU), where I was a Visiting Research Associate in the Department of Scientific Computing working for Max Gunzburger.

From 4 January to 18 January 2016, our department hosted Professor Hyung-Chun Lee from Ajou University, Suwon, Korea.

The FSU Research Computing Center sponsored an HPC workshop on Wednesday, 20 January 2016.

On 22 January 2016, I spoke to the Departmental Graduate Seminar on "How to Make a Mesh".

Engineering Day was Tuesday, 26 January 2015.

From 26-28 January 2016, our department hosted Professor Leo Rebholz of Clemson University.

A Global Game Jam session was hosted by our department, Friday-Sunday 29-31 January 2016.

Four graduate students from our department attended the 8th SIAM Student Miniconference, at Clemson University, 05-06 February 2016.

I attended the NFSDays workshops, noon-1:30, 22/23/24/25 February 2016, in room 1005 of the new Chemistry building, http://research.fsu.edu/NSFDays.

Faculty and graduate students from the FSU Departments of Scientific Computing and Mathematics attended the SIAM SEAS conference (South Eastern Atlantic Section), at the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, 12-13 March 2016.

Between 14-25 March, students applied to participate in the Google Summer of Code, https://developers.google.com/open-source/gsoc . One of our students was accepted into the program.

I hosted the local broadcast of an introductory workshop for Bridges, the newly installed system at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center, http://www.psc.edu/index.php/training-category-list/2186-bridges-introduction-workshop , from 11:00-5:00, Thursday, 31 March 2016, in room 416, Dirac Science Library.

I was one of the sponsors of a local section of the XSEDE Data Modeling and Simulation contest, http://people.sc.fsu.edu/~jburkardt/posters/spring_2016/xsede_flyer.pdf

Our students presented their work at the annual scientific exposition on 08 April.

Over the fall and spring semesters, Professor Bryan Quaife, graduate students Lukas Bystricky and Michael Schneier and I guided an undergraduate student on projects related to computational geometry, Voronoi diagrams, and Delaunay triangulations, as part of the FSU UROP program.

On Wednesday, 21 September 2016, the graduate students chose our colloquium speaker, Suncica Canic of the University of Houston.

Engineering Day was 9am-3pm on Tuesday, 27 September 2016. Our former graduate student Dave Witman showed up as a recruiter for Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab, and came back to our department in the afternoon for a talk with students.
