The ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) has collected a numbered library of algorithms. Descriptions of these algorithms first appeared in the journal "Communications of the ACM" ("CACM"), and then in a spinoff journal called "ACM Transactions on Mathematical Software", or "ACM TOMS". The text of many of the individual algorithms is available through NETLIB.
