Performance tools will be used to identify bottlenecks in current engine simulations (load imbalances, I/O problems, memory constraints, etc.). You will also work closely with multi-disciplinary science project teams and ALCF HPC experts to enhance the predictive capability of engine modeling codes. Position Requirements Doctorate and 0 years work experience. Considerable knowledge of high performance computational science, particularly: Multi-dimensional code development (in Fortran/C/C++) for combustion applications, internal combustion engine theory and operation, and parallel scientific computing is required (MPI, OpenMP). Good knowledge of turbulent combustion modeling. Good knowledge of high performance computational science using large scientific codes is desirable. Good communications skills, both verbal and written. Good skill in the solution of computational science problems using scalable parallel computers and large data systems. Good collaborative skills, including the ability to work well with other divisions, labs, universities, and industry. Good growth potential. Some experience in interdisciplinary collaborative research is desirable.
