ISU's 2001 Summer REU Mentors

The NSF sponsored REU program on Scientific Computing will be conducted by Professor Janet Peterson with the assistance of a number of faculty mentors:

• Professor Dan Ashlock, who has a background in biomathematics;
• John Burkardt, who has a background in scientific computing;
• Professor Max Gunzburger who has in interest in centroidal Voronoi tessellations;
• Professor Howard Levine, who has an interest in angiogenesis;

The mentors will present scientific research problems, discuss algorithms for solving these problems, and computer programs that implement these algorithms. They will also train the participants in the necessary background in science and programming.
