Math 6425: Spring Semester:
Mathematical Modeling of Atmospheric and Oceanic Flows

A special topics course will be offered in spring semester, on Mathematical Modeling of Atmospheric and Oceanic Flows.

The course is a general introduction to the mathematical models used to try to understand large scale geophysical flow, and the numerical methods employed to simulate them.

This is a research-oriented course. That means that students who already have begun projects in this area will be encouraged to pursue and explore them as part of the class work.

The course is scheduled MWF 1:25-2:15pm, room 212 McBryde Hall.

The class will be taught by Traian Iliescu. If you have questions about the course, please contact him at iliescu@vt.edu.
