Programs to view an MPG file include:

• The DivX program can display an MPG file (including MPEG4).
• The Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser can display an MPG file (but not MPEG4).
• The Netscape web browser can display an MPG file.
• QuickTime or QuickTime Player can display an MPG file (including MPEG4).
• Windows Media Player can display an MPG file (but not MPEG4).

Programs to convert a file to MPG format:

• QuickTime or QuickTime Player can save a QuickTime MOV file as an MPG file.

Sample MPG Files:

• traian.mpg, a fluid flow animation created by Traian Iliescu;
• tracking.mpg, an animated "fly through" of a 3D simulation of the visual cortex of the brain;
